Which Roof Have You Got

Before the Winter
September and October are the months to sort the roof, because from November the weather on this coast does the inspecting for you. The first proper south-westerly of the autumn finds every slipped tile, every open lap in a flat roof and every gutter that has spent the summer filling with moss, seeds and the seagulls' leavings. By then every roofer within thirty miles is booked up with emergencies and you are waiting in a queue with a bucket. Three things are worth doing now. Have the gutters cleared and the downpipes checked so the water leaves the roof instead of running down the wall. Have someone look at the ridge and the verges, because that is where the wind gets under. And if you have a flat roof over an extension or a garage, look at it after the next heavy rain: if there is still a pond on it an hour later, it is not draining and the deck is taking the strain.

Do you charge for coming out to quote?
No. The visit and the written quote are free, for a single slipped tile or a whole roof.
How quickly can you come and look?
Send a photo through the form or ring us and we will give you an honest answer for that week. Storm weeks are busier than others, and we will say so rather than promise a day we cannot keep.
Can I really get a price from a photo?
Often, yes. A photo from the garden or the street tells us the tile type, the pitch and the size of the problem. For anything bigger than a small repair we still come out and get up on it before the price is final.
Do you do small jobs?
Yes. Gutter cleaning from £39, a handful of slipped tiles, a leaking outlet, a bit of lead. Small jobs are how most people meet us.
Do I need scaffolding?
For most work above single storey, yes, and we arrange it as part of the job. For gutter cleaning and small repairs on a bungalow or an extension, usually not.
